He was bishop of the Hungarian Greek Catholic diocese of Hajdúdorog and apostolic governor of Miskolc from 1975 to 2008. ==Life== The newly founded Greek Catholic seminary Nyíregyháza Institute was the first year of a member, 1950-1955 until he studied at the institution. On August 7, 1955, Keresztes was ordained Bishop by Nicholas Dudas in Nyíregyháza. In 1957, earned a doctorate in theology at the Academy of Theology. From 1957 until 1960 was the organizing pastor in Budapest(Kispest). Between 1960-1970 he was an assistant pastor and a cantor in Nyíregyháza. From 1961 to 1975 he worked as a teacher of theology in the Theological College of Nyíregyháza, teaching Dogmatics as a college professor, philosophy, and religious education. From 1966 to 1969 he worked as a scholarship in Rome the Pontifical Institute of Hungary, where the Pontifical Oriental Institute of the Eastern Church Studies Faculty obtained a license. In 1970, became a canon of the cathedral.
